Artist with 15 years experience painting thankas |
The figures, colours, gestures and objects in the thangkas displayed on our pages follow closely the original Tibetan Buddhist practice. They are hand-painted works, not print art, made in workshops by highly skilled Tibetans and Nepalis residing in the Southern Himalayan region. Our thangkas are real paintings (literally “painting on cloth”) These artists make their paints from minerals (called “stones”) and herbs. |
